    Blending Technique

Let's do this one again. It's my favorite technique. I want you to take a photo and blend it into the background of your page and then also another photo or more taken at the same time on the page too but not blended.

This didn't work out so well for the blending...turned everyone blue and star studded, so I backed off. It was an interesting effect, but not what I was aiming for.

I can see it turning them blue and star studded. I like what you did though. Awesome page. Love the photo.

You just needed to fade the edges of the photo to blend it into the page. But this will work. Great page and photos Dawn.

Lovely page Vivian and Love your new fur-addition to your family. Beautiful fur-baby and lovely page. Great job.

Thanks April. Yes, I still haven't mastered the blending technique very well yet.

I don't know if you can do it in your program that you use but I just go to my effects and click on edges and has a part that says soft and I just slide it till I get the desired affect I need. It softens and make the edges more transparent as I slide it across. Course I use Microsoft Digital Imaging.

Thanks for the tip April! I use PSE 10 so likely it has this function.

I had an el cheapo program several years ago that made blending snap. It was, however, about the only thing the program did really well. Do sort of miss it, but I'd rather give blending up than lose the rest of the functionality pf PS or PSP.

I tend to have found lots of unorthodox ways to do stuff, since I just play around until I get something close. For blending like this, I sometimes just set my eraser tool to have soft edges and low opacity/density then rub around the edge of the photo until it looks ok. Probably not the techincally-correct way to do it, but it does sort of work

Hey that works to Susan. I have used my transparency brush to blend things in when I can't get it done the other way. The eraser tool would work very well. There is no set way to do it as long as you get the desired results.
