October 2012 - Healing Thru Scrapping
Wilma4Ever Presents: Healing Thru Scrapping
During October, we will be finding our healing flow!
There is scientific evidence that crafting calms frazzled nerves, lifts depression, and generally enhances maladies.
Come enhance your life and win a prize by submitting your healing digi-craft project in the W4E gallery and this thread until October 31, 2012.
***
Join us during the month of October for this challenge on healing thru crafting with this inspirational quote from one of my facebook friends:
"I was recently diagnosed with chronic peripheral neuropathy in my legs: the cause cannot be found. I have had 2 spinal fusions in the past 2 years, am in constant pain and am now only able to work part-time. My life has changed dramatically. I will soon be seeing a neurologist to hopefully discover the reason for this and I am scared. I know we all have our own "stuff," but I am sharing this because besides my family, there is one thing that keeps me going... my crafting. When I enter my craft room and pick up my tools, I become immersed and forget (as much as I can) what is happening physically. I am a firm believer that if you keep your mind busy and not let your hands become idle, you can get through almost anything. We are lucky to have each other (my internet friends) and so very lucky to love what we are able to share, and to share what we love. For others going through difficult situations, please remember what you DO have. Have a wonderful day!" ~K.G.
The challenge is to create a project that is about your medical issue or a tough personal situation, and how digi scrap helps you heal. The project can be a LO, card, ATC, tag, siggy, etc. Participants need to post in their project in the gallery and in this thread for a prize before October 31, 2012.

Re: October 2012 - Healing Thru Scrapping
I can fully attest to the healing properties of scrapbooking. I have almost a full album documenting the life of our son. I still have a few pages that I want to do. Maybe I'll just join you for this one.

Re: October 2012 - Healing Thru Scrapping
My tough personal situation...
I used ABCreations kit Marina's Mini at http://wilma4ever.com/index.php?main...ducts_id=17823

The journaling reads:
I am a stay at home mom. I love my children more than all the good things in all the world. I hate potty training more than all the bad things in all the world. My every day is full of cleaning pee and poop out of the carpet, sofa, bed, walls, and off of two small children. My every night is full of changing sheets, washing children, consoling them for hours when their blankies have pee on them and must be washed. I do laundry at least five times a day, usually more due to all the accidents. I’m sure when they are 16 & 17 and sneaking out of the house, I will wish for the days of potty training, but right now, not
so much!
I had a lot more journaling/complaining i wanted to do, but i didn't know where to put it, lol! I know I shouldn't complain, I should be thankful that I was finally able to have children after so many years of infertility treatments, and don't get me wrong, I AM! I'm just so OVER this potty training phase! I'm so glad I have photoshop to get lost in at night once everyone is asleep so I can hang out in my own little world of pretty little pixels, and chat with you wonderful ladies!

Re: October 2012 - Healing Thru Scrapping
I have loved scrapping for many years - first paper now digital. But several years ago (seems like yesterday), a personal crisis (one of many) sent me into a "crash and burn" phase. Doing my scrapbook pages was the only thing I could focus on for any length of time. It was while I was working on a project that I realized why I was struggling so much with my brother's then - recent death. This Tuesday would have been his 65th birthday...maybe that is why I could finally finish this page. And, yes, while healing has taken place, as Nanny said about her page...doing this one again helped reinforce the healing. Blessings to all who are still hurting -- may you soon find the peace and strength to more forward.
